Why
During radiotherapy a child has to stay still for the whole session. For our capstone we are building an app with Princess Margaret Cancer Centre that families can use at home to practise before treatment starts.
What it does
- Audio prompts explain each step of a radiotherapy session and guide the child through timed stillness exercises.
- Movement monitoring reads a wearable sensor during practice, picks out movement events and tracks how long the child stays still.
- Session history lets caregivers look back at movement events, which sessions were completed and how things improve over repeated attempts.
The project is ongoing, so this page will grow as it does.
